Have Cowboys QB Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson broken up? It depends which tabloid you listen to. On Monday, Star magazine reported Romo spent a wild weekend in Chicago (he sang Take Me Out To The Ballgame at Wrigley Field during his trip) with his college buddies and the fun may have led to a split between the couple. A pal of Tony’s told the magazine “they’re broken up.” “It’s over with Jessica,” Romo reportedly said. However, a rep for the singer told Access Hollywood, there is “no truth” to the rumors in Star magazine that the couple had gone their separate ways.

NBC announced Monday something that hardly had been a secret: that Jimmy Fallon will assume Conan O'Brien's Late Night hosting chair once O'Brien assumes Jay Leno's Tonight Show hosting chair next year. "It's a comedian's dream to get this job, to work with writers and try to be funny every night," Fallon said. Late Night executive producer Lorne Michaels said the Fallon era "probably" will begin in the first six months of 2009. NBC's plan is to have O'Brien move west to L.A. to take over for Leno at the Tonight Show next year. Well, it’s a case of good news, bad news for Paul McCartney’s ex-wife, Heather Mills. A judge in London granted a preliminary divorce Monday to Mills and the former Beatle. If no one objects, the divorce will be final in six weeks. Mills, 40, will emerge from the rancorous divorce with a settlement of $47.5 million but a reputation damaged by her televised outbursts against McCartney. However, Mills is set to be a contestant on ‘Celebrity Apprentice.’ Mills is in talks to appear on the second season of the show, which is hosted by Donald Trump. Hip-hop mogul Suge Knight was hit so hard by a man on Saturday outside L.A.’s Shaq nightclub that he reportedly lost consciousness. According to TMZ.com, a witness saw Suge talking to a guy in a friendly manner but that it turned not so friendly quickly. Suge shouted, "I want my money!" Suge then rushed the guy with the help of his posse, and began hitting and kicking him. People outside the club broke up the fight, and as the man got up, he landed a right hook to Suge's face, knocking him out cold. Supposedly for nearly three minutes. Eddy Arnold, whose mellow baritone on songs like "Make the World Go Away" made him one of the most successful country singers in history, died Thursday morning, days short of his 90th birthday. Arnold died at a care facility near Nashville, said Don Cusic, a professor at Belmont University and author of the biography "Eddy Arnold: I'll Hold You in My Heart." His wife of 66 years, Sally, had died in March, and in the same month, Arnold fell outside his home, injuring his hip. A children's story about a family of penguins with two fathers once again tops the list of library books the public objects to the most. "And Tango Makes Three," released in 2005 and co-written by Justin Richardson and Peter Parnell, was the most "challenged" book in public schools and libraries for the second straight year, according to the American Library Association. "The complaints are that young children will believe that homosexuality is a lifestyle that is acceptable. Marvel Studios announced Monday it will release "Iron Man 2" on April 30, 2010, following the success of the first in the comic-book franchise, which pulled in $104.2 million domestically since opening last Thursday and $201 million worldwide. Four other films based on Marvel superheroes also were announced: "Thor," due out June 4, 2010; "The First Avenger: Captain America," May 6, 2011; "The Avengers," July 2011; and "Ant-Man," which is in development but has no release date. Marvel also has "The Incredible Hulk," starring Edward Norton, coming out June 13 from Universal Studios.
