Will the Statue of Liberty make the cut? WagerWeb.com releases odds on which will be the New 7 Wonders of the World.

Seven Wonders of the World betting odds at WagerWeb Sportsbook

San Jose, Costa Rica (March 20, 2007) -
Can you name the Seven Wonders of the World? Probably not. Out of the ancient Wonders, only the Pyramids of Giza have stood the test of time. Not only that, but there is no record to prove that most of the original 7 Wonders of the World ever existed.

That is why the
New Open World Corporation (NOWC) is holding a world wide contest in search of the New Seven Wonders of the World. To be included on the new list, the Wonders had to be man-made, completed before 2000, and in an "acceptable" state of preservation.

The 21 finalists include castles, temples, cities, monuments and tombs. "We have received a lot of interest on this proposition bet." says Dave Johnson, CEO of
WagerWeb.com. "The heavy favorites like Machu Picchu and the Pyramids of Giza have received a lot of betting action. A few of the underdogs like The Statue of Liberty and Timbuktu have received some unexpected action as well."
