The Players Championship preview
Brainiac . 07 May, 2008 03:07:33
Let’s get this out of the way first and foremost heading into the PGA Tour’s “fifth major” this weekend at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.: Tiger Woods is not playing. Thus, the chances of many increase significantly and probably make this story a little more worthwhile. Even without Tiger, the field is stellar: 49 of the top 50 players in the FedEx Cup points are playing. Every player who has won a tournament since the start of 2007 is teeing it up at Sawgrass other than Tiger. Phil Mickelson is the defending champ at The Players, as Lefty came from behind on the final day to defeat Sergio Garcia by two strokes in 2007. Mickelson, ...
Roger Clemens: I’m a cheater but not a liar
Brainiac . 05 May, 2008 06:32:22
Following a week in which the New York Daily News reported his affairs with several women, Roger Clemens released a statement Sunday night apologizing for "mistakes in his personal life," while again denying he ever used performance-enhancing drugs. “I know that many people want to know what I have to say about the recent articles in the media. Even though these articles contain many false accusations and mistakes, I need to say that I have made mistakes in my personal life for which I am sorry," Clemens said in a statement handed to the Houston Chronicle. "Now, I have been accused of having an improper relationship with a 15-year-old girl. Nothing could be further from the truth. This ...
Papa John’s offering 23 cent pizza as apology
Brainiac . 04 May, 2008 14:17:00
If you live in the Cleveland area, you get a damn cheap large pizza this Thursday from Papa John’s should you want one. The pizza chain issued an apology to Cleveland and the Cavaliers for making T-shirts with LeBron James' number and the word "crybaby" under it. To apologize, Papa John's will sell Cleveland residents a large, one-topping pizza for 23 cents on Thursday. The 23 is an homage to James' jersey number. The company also will donate $10,000 to the Cavaliers Youth Fund. The pizza chain's T-shirts were featured during the Cavs' games against the Wizards on Friday in Washington. Wizards fans taunted the Cavs, who won the payoff series that night in Game 6. ...
Karl Malone had a kid - with a 13-year-old!!
Brainiac . 01 May, 2008 07:49:02
Apparently in Louisiana, it's OK to have sex with kids.According to a column in The Buffalo News, former Utah Jazz star Karl Malone had an illegitimate kid with a woman by the name of Gloria Bell. Now, you say, why is this column from the Buffalo News? Because that child, Demetrius Bell, was taken in the seventh round of last week’s draft by the Bills. Malone and Bell have had very little contact during Bell’s life. His mother, Gloria Bell, reportedly was only 13 and Malone a college sophomore at Louisiana Tech when Demetrius was born. Malone might have served jail time had her family asked the district attorney to file criminal charges. Bell didn’t even ...
Strike 2: Clemens in another extramarital affair

Roger Clemens rocked the cradle with Mindy McCready!
Brainiac . 28 April, 2008 02:50:18
Awesome story from New York Daily News, saying Roger Clemens began a 10-year affair with country singer Mindy McCready when Clemens was 28 and married. Oh, and when McCready was 15!!!! YOU CANT MAKE THIS STUFF UP!! Has anyone fallen from grace as fast as Clemens? For what it’s worth, his attorney admits the 10-year friendship but says it wasn’t sexual. Yeah, right. Because giving money to a hot, young, famous woman and taking her on vacations is something you do with just a friend. Ciick here to read the Daily News story

In a "Nightline" interview that will air Monday on ABC, the 46-year-old Walker said he has been in treatment for eight years and believes the disorder is under control, adding that writing the book was therapeutic for him. Following a Heisman Trophy-winning career at the University of Georgia, Walker spent three seasons in the USFL and then played 12 years in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants.
