If new Indiana coach Tom Crean wasn’t aware of what he’s facing in the short term at Indiana, he got a reminder on Wednesday.
Terrell Holloway, 6-foot point guard from Harmony Community School in Roselawn, Ohio, originally committed to Indiana but obtained a release from his letter of intent after Indiana fired coach Kelvin Sampson midseason.
He chose Xavier on Wednesday. The 6-1, 175-pound guard is rated as the No. 100 player in his class by Rivals.com. He had mentioned possibly still considering Indiana.
With Holloway’s commitment, the competition to be Xavier’s starting point guard next season increased. He, Mark Lyons and Brad Redford are all backcourt specialists who will contend for playing time with sophomore-to-be Dante Jackson.
