image If you missed Sunday night’s “Human Footprint” on the National Geographic Channel, you must catch a replay.

It basically boils down what a typical human would “use” in a lifetime.

For example:

3,796 diapers
13,056 pints of milk
5,067 bananas
13,248 beers
4,376 loaves of bread
43,371 cans of soda

To illustrate this approach, "Human Footprint" host Elizabeth Vargas doesn't just tell you that the average American consumes 19,825 eggs over the course of a lifetime (which averages 77 years and 9 months, by the way). She shows you what 19,825 of these little white ovals look like when piled up. There are several examples of this.

I’m not overly eco-friendly, I’ll admit. But NatGeo is fast becoming one of my favorite channels.
