Washington Post columnist Michael Wilbon, probably better known as co-host of ESPN's "Pardon The Interruption", suffered a minor heart attack early Monday morning.
According to reports, Wilbon complained of chest pains to his wife around 3 a.m. She then took him to the hospital. Doctors found minor blockage in his heart and performed an angioplasty, which successfully removed the blockage.
Wilbon missed the airing of Monday's episode of PTI. Co-host Tony Kornheiser mentioned that Wilbon was out with chest pains during the telecast. However, Kornheiser apparently did not know that it was an actual heart attack until after the show.
Wilbon is great on PTI and no doubt was going to be a big part of Super Bowl week, so hopefully he won’t be out too long. He is expected back home this week.
