Ty Lawson arrested for DUI will he return to UNC now?

Ty Lawson, a North Carolina basketball player who has filed for early entry into the NBA draft, was arrested in Chapel Hill early Friday and charged with driving after drinking. Lawson also was charged with violating the city's noise ordinance for his booming system and driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Lawson was one of three North Carolina players who declared for the 2008 NBA draft. He has not hired an agent, meaning he could return to school for his junior season. Lawson, 20, is a 5-11 point guard from Clinton, Md.

This might actually be good news for Tar Heels fans. This might make some NBA teams think he’s not mature enough for the league yet, and his stock might drop. Many experts have already said with another good year in school, he’d be a lottery pick in 2009. Maybe this clinches that.
