Saunders optioned to TripleA Tacoma

The Mariners liked what they saw of Michael Saunders in a brief Major League call-up in 2009, but the teams outfield full of veterans got too crowded for the 23-year-old, who will start the 2010 season at Triple-A Tacoma.
Saunders was optioned to Tacoma on Thursday and will begin the season on the club for which he batted .310 with 13 home runs and 32 RBIs in 248 at-bats last year before being called up to the Mariners on July 25.
Right-handed relievers Mike Koplove and Levale Speigner were re-assigned to Minor League camp, completing the mornings transactions.
