Report Raiders to start QB Palmer vs Chiefs

Carson Palmer went from retirement to starting quarterback in short order.
The newly signed Palmer is expected to start Sundays game against the AFC West rival Kansas City Chiefs, team and league sources told the San Francisco Chronicle.
Raiders offensive coordinator Al Saunders told a Kansas City radio station that Palmer would be starting on Sunday “as long as hes breathing.”
Oakland coach Hue Jackson did not reveal his starting quarterback on Wednesday, one day after Palmer was traded from the Cincinnati Bengals.
After demanding a trade and threatening to retire, Palmer was traded to the Raiders for a pair of high draft picks.
Palmer threw for 3,970 yards and 26 touchdowns last season but also had a career-high 20 interceptions.
Should the Raiders (4-2) elect to sit Palmer against the Chiefs (2-3) on Sunday, Kyle Boller would get the nod before the team hits its bye next week.

Carson Palmer said he is “fully recovered” from a previous elbow injury and left the Cincinnati Bengals because “it was just time for a change.”
After demanding a trade and threatening to retire, Palmer was traded Tuesday by the Bengals to the Oakland Raiders for a pair of high draft picks.
“It was just time for a change,” Palmer said. “It had been eight seasons and it was time.”
Palmer gave no deeper reasons for his desire to leave the Bengals and believed that his career could be over.
“I had no idea anything was going on until last night when I got a call from my agent,” he said. “Then I got a text at 4 a.m. that said to get on a plane to Oakland. It’s been a wild day.”
In recent years, there were questions about the diminished arm strength of Palmer, who had an elbow injury that forced him to miss 12 games in 2007. He tried to put those to rest.
“Im healthy,” he said. “Im 100 percent healthy.”
Palmer threw for 3,970 yards and 26 TDs last season but also had a career-high 20 interceptions.
It is believed the Raiders will start Kyle Boller at quarterback Sunday vs. Kansas City before integrating Palmer next week, when they have a bye.

The Cincinnati Bengals traded disgruntled quarterback Carson Palmer to the Oakland Raiders for what could become two first-round picks, ESPN.com reported Tuesday.

The report said the Bengals receive Oaklands 2012 first-round pick and a 2013 conditional pick that could become a first-round selection based upon how much Palmer plays for his new team.
