Johnson ran for 4,598 yards and 34 touchdowns through his first three seasons. He held out through training camp before signing a four-year contract extension worth $53 million.

This season, Johnson has rushed for more than 53 yards in a game just once in six contests and is averaging just 2.9 yards per carry. He heard boos in Sundays 41-7 home loss to Houston in which he had 18 yards on 10 attempts.

“It is not all his fault,” Munchak told the Nashville Tennesseean. “To run the ball well, it takes 10 other guys to help him out.”

Johnsons backup is Javon Ringer, who is averaging 3.0 yards per carry.
