All this college football hype has us wondering:  What in the heck is a 'BCS'? Like a lot of NFL fans, we here at the Huddle will be watching this weekend's LSU vs. Alabama game with an eye on pro prospects, not computer rankings or other such folderol.

So we've gathered some thoughts from two of our favorite NFL Draft analysts on the top 5 future NFL players getting ready to buckle up in Tuscaloosa.

Rob Rang of The Sports Xchange/CBSSports.com and Scott Wright of nfldraftcountdown.com chip in:

1. Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama*

Rang's take: "Possesses an almost unheard combination of size, strength and speed."

Wright's take: "May be the best running back prospect to come along since Adrian Peterson and Darren McFadden."

2. Dre Kirkpatrick, CB, Alabama*

Rang's take: "Physical, fast and athletic, Kirkpatrick has the athletic traits scouts look for in a top cornerback."

Wright's take: "Tall, rangy cover guy who isn't afraid to hit someone."

3. Morris Claiborne, CB, LSU*

Rang's take: "There isn't a cornerback in college playing better football than Claiborne right now."

Wright's take: "Kirkpatrick is a tall, rangy cover guy who isn't afraid to hit someone."

4. Courtney Upshaw, ILB, Alabama

Rang's take: "Among the most versatile defenders in the country, Upshaw's burst and strong, active hands make him a natural pass rusher."

Wright's take: "Dangerous off edge, stout versus run and offers lots of versatility."

5. Mark Barron, SS, Alabama

Rang's take: "His reliable open-field tackling and instincts make him the clear top safety prospect."

Wright's take: "Aggressive and physical with some playmaking ability in coverage."
