The New York Knicks have all but disappeared their early-season winning drought after clinching four games in a row; except for an ankle injury to star forward Carmelo Anthony, they’re now riding high on their way to face the Phoenix Suns who visit Madison Square Garden tonight.
The Knicks are favorites to win this game by -7.5 points against a Phoenix team on a five game losing streak; despite this, Phoenix has had the upper hand overall, winning 11 of the last 15 matches between them.
Anthony is back on the Knicks’ lineup after missing one game, scoring a team-high 33 points in a home loss to Orlando on Monday. New York is averaging a low 106.5 Points per Game, so Anthony’s presence can be a big factor for his team putting up points. “We’re not making shots right now. It seems like we can’t shoot the ball in the ocean right now. Everybody," Anthony said. “We’ve just got to get out of that shooting slump.”
The Suns were creamed by the Chicago Bulls 118-97 on Tuesday night; they did however remind us of a team back yonder, when Charles Barkley was playing ball, and ended up scoring 97 points against the number one defense in the NBA.
Here’s what Steve Nash, who posted 20 points and 10 assists, had to say: “I think everyone is going to score more.” “There’s going to be more cohesion. We’ll see more balance, and we’ll see more guys scoring. It’s get better.”
Expect a high point game on this one and remember there is a 2 Star Free Pick available exclusively for Insiders, make sure to grab it while it’s hot.
