Sacramento Kings @ Portland Trailblazers
When: 10:10 PM ET, Monday, January 23, 2012
Where: Rose Garden; Portland, Oregon
The Portland Trail Blazers are back home at the Rose Garden, now facing the Sacramento Kings in the first game of a back-to-back-to-back series for them. The Trail Blazers, who have come up short on their road games with a 2-4 record this season, now hope to gain the home court edge, where they are 6-1, and pick up some needed momentum.
INSIDER 100% winning NBA Trend: The Trail Blazers are 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 games as a home favorite of 5.0-10.5.
The line favors Portland (now at -10.5 -110), so this trend is within target if you want to bet it; even having lost five of their last seven games, the Trail Blazers have a commanding 46-10 record against the Sacramento Kings in Portland. This includes 11 wins of the last 12 meetings between these two teams.
The Trail Blazers beat Sacramento 101-79 on Dec. 27; Gerald Wallace and LaMarcus Aldridge scored 25 and 24 points respectively in that game, but Wallace could miss Monday's contest because of a sprained right middle finger.
“When we get back to Portland we have back-to-back-to-back so we're not looking too far ahead.” Center Marcus Camby said on the Blazers’ official website. “We just have to regroup (Sunday) and concentrate on Sacramento."
After falling behind by as many as 13 in the first half Saturday, the Trail Blazers have to overcome a difficult stretch that continues Tuesday against Memphis and Wednesday at Golden State.
The Kings (6-11), who lost 128-95 at Memphis on Saturday, will look to take away the Trail Blazers’ advantage and get over their 2-8 record on the road. Third-year guard Tyreke Evans was 2 for 8 for just four points in that game and Sacramento is 0-6 this season when he takes fewer than 13 shots; the Kings will likely make him the go-to-guy to take a lot of shots from the floor.
