Date/Time: Monday, January 30, 2012, 7:00 PM ET - Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, PA
After scoring their third straight win this last weekend, the Philadelphia 76ers will try to end a six-game home losing streak against Orlando tonight when they welcome the Magic this Monday at the Wells Fargo Center.
The Sixers (14-4) will enter this game after scoring a convincing 72-89 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday night and a 74-95 result vs. the Detroit Pistons last Saturday. Currently the Sixers have a respectable home record of 10 wins and 2 losses, and have outscored their opponents by 10 points or more in each of their home victories. The 76ers are 3-1 on their seven-game homestand , which gets more demanding and complicated later this week when they welcome the Chicago Bulls (Wednesday) and Miami Heat (Friday).
The Magic (12-8) will try to bounce from a recent loss to the Indiana Pacers on Sunday. The 106-85 loss to the visiting Indiana Pacers was the Magic’s third straight reverse and the fourth in the past five games. The Magic kicked off the season with a promising 11-4 start and 100 or more points in eight of their first 13 games, however, the team has struggled to score 90 points or more points in their last seven contests, losing five of those seven games with an average of 81.1 points per game and 38.8% shooting.
The Magic will try to avoid matching their longest skid since 2011, but they'll be playing once again without starting point guard Jameer Nelson, who sat out Sunday’s game with concussion-like symptoms and didn’t travel to Philadelphia. Nelson was hit twice during Friday’s loss to the New Orleans Hornets. Orlando coach Stan Van Gundy said Nelson won’t return until he receives a clean bill of health from the team’s medical staff.

Philadelphia has had a tough time when playing against the Magic, dropping 15 of the last 17 matchups, including 10 of 11 games held at the Wells Fargo Center. The Magic are 8-2 ATS in the last 10 games and 5-0 ATS in the last 5 matches in Philadelphia. However, the Magic is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a home winning percentage greater than .600 and just 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall. Meanwhile, the 76ers are 11-2 ATS in their last 13 home games and 16-5-1 ATS in their last 22 games overall.
At first sight, bettors may find the Magic at +7.5 as an attractive pick, but given the fact Orlando is far from playing its best game and The Sixers are one of the strongest teams while playing at home, is not hard to figure out why Philadelphia is listed as a 2 Star Pick on Inspin.com.
