Game Overview:

The Big East will host the hottest college basketball match of the day this Monday Night when the Pittsburgh Panthers (11-7, 0-5) come to the Carrier Dome to face the top ranked and perfect 19-0 Syracuse Orange (19-0, 6-0).

The Pittsburgh Panthers, losers of six straight games, are coming off a five-point loss to Marquette, succumbing to the Golden Eagles’ press down the stretch. The Panthers will now take on another press-heavy defense. However, Pittsburgh has won eight of its last nine meetings with the Orange, including five straight victories over Syracuse. During last season, the Orange’s perfect 18-0 start record ended with a 74-66 road defeat vs. the Panthers. The same situation repeated in the 2009-10 season, when the Panthers shattered Syracuse’s 13-0 start record with an 82-72 victory at the Carrier Dome.

Meanwhile, Syracuse cruised to Saturday's 78-55 home victory over Providence to remain as one of three undefeated programs in the NCAA Basketball. Syracuse tied its school record for consecutive wins to start a season, set during the 1999-2000 campaign.
