NFL Playoff Preview – Two AFC Division Titans Meet: Broncos vs. Patriots
By Inspin.com on Jan 10, 2012

This Saturday night, January 14th at 8:00PM EST, the Denver Broncos will be visiting the northeast at the Gillette Stadium for a head to head matchup against AFC rival New England Patriots.

Just as Tim Tebow and Demaryius Thomas connected on the game-winning touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the press went wild with stories about the rematch against the New England Patriots. Also Sportsbooks have gone crazy releasing NFL Betting odds in expectation for Tebow performance.

After taking care of the Steelers 29-23 at home last week, the Broncos will attempt a near impossible mission during this exciting AFC Divisional playoff showdown. However both the Broncos and Tebow know what is like to face a team that is favored. They have been doing it with generous results all second half of the season.

The question for the broncos is… Can they stop New England’s offense? – No… However there is the possibility of slowing them down. How? - Taking advantage of a well known fact, the New England's offense slow starts.  If the Broncos can get ahead early in the game, they have a chance at knocking off the Patriots.

The next question is, what about Denver offense? What will they come up with?

Well, the answer is this: - Denver will have plenty of opportunities to move the football against the Patriots, but they will need the offense to get the running game going early and often. Tebow, for all his impressive season, is not effective passing the football without a decent run game going. There is no reason to think that the Broncos need to change the formula here. That is for the off season workouts. Stick with what brought you here. Tebow can win this game if he is close at the end.

With all this said – You just can’t underestimate Tom Brady’s New England. If they play their cards right and apply their far superior experience they will be able to avoid being shut down. Also they will be fired up by playing at home. So even if their defense has been really bad this season and taken into account - it is a playoff matchup - I see it hard for the Broncos to stamp on them again this time around.

The Denver Broncos vs. New England Patriots point spread opened with the New England Patriots as a -13 1/2 point home favorite. Currently the best bet on the Broncos is +13 1/2 points at wagerweb.com. The Denver Broncos vs. New England Patriots over/under total is set at 50 ½ -110.
