New York Jets (5-4, 1-3 away) vs.Denver Broncos (4-5, 1-3 home)
Rex Ryan and the New York Jets will head to Mile-High to face Tim Tebow and the resurgent Broncos tonight on Thursday Night Football. New York is coming off a devastating loss last week to the New England Patriots.
Quarterback Tom Brady carved up the Jets D’ last week in Foxboro. He was 26/39 for 329 yards and 3 touchdowns in the 37-16 win which catapulted the Pats to 1st place in the AFC East. The victory was so thrilling for head coach Bill Belichik he was quoted:
"Thirty-seven points on the best defense in the league, so s@ck my d@ck.” The remark will surely add more fuel to the fire between these two head coaches who have shown very little fondness of each other. The humiliating defeat ended a three-game winning streak that started in week 6 vs. Miami.
Denver is headed in a different direction the past few weeks. Heading into the bye in week 6 they were 1-4 and in last place in the AFC west. The offense under Kyle Orton was ineffective and the Broncos had nowhere else to turn but to Tim Tebow.
At the current time that’s looking like a pretty good decision. Tebow has injected much-needed life into this stagnant team. His game is unorthodox but the results don’t lie. Tebow is 3-1 as a starter and the Broncos now find themselves in the playoff hunt in the AFC West.
Let’s take a look at the current betting odds on the game:
New York Jets -6-110

Odds Analysis:
The betting line on this game opened Jets -4.5 but early wise guy money drove the game quickly to -6. The early sharp action was a result of substantial injuries to the Broncos running back core. Starting running back, Willis McGahee, is listed as questionable with a hamstring injury.
McGahee leads the team with 640 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns. Second string running back, Knowshon Moreno was also added to the injury chart. He has a knee injury and is listed as doubtful for Thursday. Moreno has 179 yards and averages 4.8 yards/carry on the season.
The absence of both players will put a serious dent in the broncos rushing attack. The betting public is hammering away at the Jets -6 at a consensus ratio of 91%. If this trend continues you can expect bookmakers to move the game to -6.5 or -7 before kick-off.
The over/under on the game opened 41 but was bet down to 40 with sharp money. The potential absence of McGahee as well as the Broncos penchant for running the ball is an easy conclusion for the move towards the under. The current total of 40 is being bet at an over/under ratio of 52/48%.
