Jonathan Toews and Steve Montador each scored twice to help the Blackhawks beat the Edmonton Oilers, 6-3, last night in Chicago for their third straight victory. Duncan Keith added a goal and assist for the Blackhawks, who handed the Oilers their third consecutive loss. Daniel Carcillo capped the scoring with an empty-net goal.
Ryan Smyth, Jordan Eberle, and Shawn Horcoff scored for the Oilers, who finished their six-game road trip 2-4-0. Montador, a defenseman, scored one of his goals playing forward, parked in the slot on a power play. Edmonton's Nikolai Khabibulin surrendered a season-high five goals on 34 shots and lost his second straight game in regulation after starting the season 7-0-2. Chicago's Corey Crawford made 20 saves.
Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook sustained a lower-body injury in the second period and didn't return.

Flyers 3, Panthers 2 - At Sunrise, Fla., Danny Briere, Braydon Coburn, and Matt Read scored, and Ilya Bryzgalov made 31 saves in Philadelphia's victory. Bryzgalov won for the fourth time in five starts. Evgeny Dadonov and Tomas Fleischmann scored for Florida and Jose Theodore stopped 32 shots.
Read scored on a penalty shot to give the Flyers a 3-1 lead at 4:14 of the third. He was awarded the penalty shot after being tripped by Jason Garrison. Fleischmann's goal with eight seconds left made it 3-2. Fleischmann has 12 points in his last 10 games.
Wild 3, Ducks 2 - Matt Cullen and Jared Spurgeon scored 3:21 apart in the first period, Kyle Brodziak also found the net, and Nicklas Backstrom made 32 saves in the Minnesota's win on the road.
Defenseman Cam Fowler got his first two goals of the season for the Ducks, who are 1-5-2 since beating the Wild, 3-2, in Minnesota Oct. 27. The second came with 48.5 seconds left on a screened wrist shot after Anaheim coach Randy Carlyle used his timeout. Jonas Hiller was pulled by Carlyle at the end of the first period, after giving up three goals on 15 shots.
Canucks 4, Islanders 1 - Roberto Luongo made 23 saves to help Vancouver win at home. Aaron Rome had a goal and two assists, Cody Hodgson and David Booth each had a goal and an assist, and Henrik Sedin also scored for the Canucks, who were coming off a six-game trip. Mark Moulson scored for New York.
