The Edmonton Oilers travel to Buffalo to play the Sabres at 7:05 PM, tonight. Buffalo is the favorite in this game, with -1.5 points as home team. The Total has been posted at Over/Under 5.5 at wagerweb.com.

Buffalo will be looking to find its sixth straight win over Edmonton. The Sabres (17-17-4) have lost three consecutive games and six of their last seven after falling 3-2 to Ottawa in a shootout on Saturday, scoring fewer than three goals for the fifth time in six games.

The team has been under-performing after coming into the season full of hype following a summer spending spree. A major part of the problem has been the play of new additions Christian Ehrhoff and Ville Leino, who so far, have been total desaster. Ehrhoff has only 17 points and a minus-11 rating through 37 games so far this season, while Leino has 10 points and is a minus-7 through 29 contests.

Edmonton (16-19-3) was able to hold on for the victory Monday to end a three-game skid, but is still only 4-11-1 in its last 16 games.

The Oilers lost key players due to injury in rookie Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (shoulder) and defenseman Tom Gilbert (knee). With their status unknown, Edmonton faces a big dilemma on its travel to Buffalo if they want to win over the Sabres for the first time in over eight years.

Playing the fourth test of a seven-game road trip, the Oilers picked up their first victory away from Edmonton since Nov. 25 courtesy of a 4-3 triumph in Chicago. Ben Eager netted the game-winner in a victory that came with a cost.

Fortunately for the Sabres, meetings with Edmonton have been kind to them in recent years - they have yet to lose to the Oilers since the 2005 lockout.
