There are weeks where it seems you just can't get a lucky break, it's a hard pill to swallow when you're watching the games and your picks are going down the drain as the play clock winds down.

Yes, last week's 3 for FREE picks went a sad 1 for 3. The good news though, if you did follow our advice, is that the Giants pulled the upset, beating the Dallas Cowboys 37 to 34 in the evening game. That meant one thing for me…money in my pocket.

I spoke to my source on the inside and the books got crushed on this one game, needless to say he wasn't very happy when he got to the office this morning having to face payouts up to his eyeballs.

Let's recap what happened:

Pick #1 Philadelphia Eagles vs. Miami Dolphins

The 2 Star FREE pick was to take the OVER at 44 or better. The game ended 26 to 10 going to the Eagles; although the stats favored a high scoring game, Miami's offense was shut down getting manhandled by Philadelphia's defensive line.

Credit's due to the Eagles' offense; Michael Vick returned after missing three games with broken ribs going 15 for 30, including a 34 yard TD pass to DeSean Jackson, and shook off four sacks. Eagle's fans are hanging on to their dream of reaching the playoffs; but alas, it's highly doubtful that the stars will line up and grant them their wish.

Pick #2 Oakland Raiders vs. Green Bay Packers

The 2 Star FREE pick was to take the Raiders at +12 or better. Clearly, no one on in Oakland expected this game to go so far south for them. The 46 to 16 whipping of the Raiders by the Packers just goes to show that Green Bay is the best team in the NFL at the moment, and it's likely that they'll defend their title for Superbowl XLVI.

The Packers are keeping their sights on having a perfect season, but seemed concerned for the health of their star wide receiver Greg Jennings, who left the game with a knee injury in the third quarter; "Well, it didn't look very good," Packer's QB Aaron Rodgers said. "So we'll see what the MRI says tomorrow."

Regardless, Green Bay is taking care of business and going into the playoffs playing the kind of game they have to, to reach the Bowl.

Pick #3 New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys

The 2 Star FREE pick was to take the Giants at +3.5 -110 or better. Eli Manning and the New York Giants clawed their way to a win; down by 12 late in the fourth quarter, the Giants scored two touchdowns in the final 3:41 and blocked a field goal for a 37 to 34 win.

This snapped the Giant's four game losing streak and brings them back as contenders for the NFC East race; meanwhile, the Cowboys seemed to meltdown in the final moments of the game allowing Manning to set up an eight play, 80 yard drive ending in an 8 yard touchdown pass to Jake Ballard.

"Guys stepped up and made some big plays," Eli Manning said. "It won't mean anything unless we finish the season strong. That's the mindset. We can't relax now or feel great about ourselves." It was Manning's third 400 yard game, going 27 of 47 and two touchdowns.

What will Dan "The Man" Leach have for us this week? We'll soon find out…

In the meantime, I'm settling in to watch the Monday Night game and blowing some steam off with my pals.
