Patriots vs. Broncos: Can New England Take Down Denver’s Tebow Attack?
By Inspin.com on Dec 14, 2011

by Mario Miller - Inspin Insider Extraordinaire

The Game:

New England Patriots (10-3) vs. Denver Broncos (8-5), 2:15 p.m. MT

New England plays against Denver on Sunday at Sports Authority Field at Mile High and everyone and his uncle are itching to find out if the Pats have got the stuff to make it to the playoffs and beyond, or if they'll be run over by the Tebow Express and the Broncos.

The Patriots have won five games in a row; the Broncos have taken out six opponents straight. So you better believe the buzz is going off like a fighting mad hornet’s nest.

At times like this, it’s better to take it to the numbers…

What do you say we take a look at some stats? Great lets jump in.

Denver currently has the league’s top-ranked rushing offense at 156.2 yards per game. They average 187.1 yards per game in their last nine games engineering a rushing game that connects Tim Tebow with Willis McGahee (tied for the NFL lead with six 100-yard rushing games.)

New England has lost their three last games at Denver and is 3-6 against them in the Bill Belichick era; it’s also clear that they're not getting sucked in to all the hype surrounding Tebow.

“Everybody tries to make it just ‘Tebow Time’ -- it’s their team,” linebacker Dane Fletcher said. “Just like (Sunday) was a good win for them. Their defense stepped up (and their) kicker had a couple of good kicks. I’m not blowing it out of perspective and saying it’s one guy, because it’s not. It’s the team.”

Currently, Inspin sponsor and leading offshore sporstsbook, wagerweb.com has the line for the game favoring New England by -6 points. This is likely to change as game time comes along depending where the money goes.

Regardless, both teams have a fair chance of winning the game. If the Pats win, only the Dolphins and the Bills remain in the way and they'll end up clinching the division; if the Broncos win, they'll play the Bills and the Chiefs and ultimately win the division (but have to pull off nine consecutive triumphs.)

At this point, it’s really up for grabs. Who do you think will take it?
