Eastern Conference Finals

The Miami Heat eliminated the New York Knicks last week with relative ease and were waiting on the result of the Boston Celtics vs the Philadelphia 76ers.

Sunday night, that game took place and the Boston Celtics throttled the 76ers to move on to face the Heat.

These two teams have been the best two franchises in the Eastern Conference during Lebron’s run as well as since he left for the West.

One or both of these teams have played in the Eastern Conference finals nearly every year since 2010.

The Celtics rode a white-hot Jayson Tatum through the last 5 quarters of their series against the 76ers. He was horrific to start game 6 in Philadelphia, then he woke up and sent them home.

Joel Embiid and James Harden figured out a way to continue their lackluster playoff careers, despite having a 3-2 lead with a home game upcoming. Tatum had 51 points in game 7 in what was a 30-point game late in the fourth quarter.

The Miami Heat knocked out the Knicks in 6 games in round two.

The real stunner was Jimmy Butler and his group of unheralded role players, and Bam Adebayo, knocking out the #1 seeded Milwaukee Bucks and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Jimmy Butler has put another masterpiece out there for us to behold. He has been the best player on the floor every time he has stepped on it this postseason. This series is going to be their toughest test with the wing defenders that the Celtics can throw at him.

The Battle between these two is a rematch of last year’s Eastern Conference Finals as well. The Celtics won last year in the final seconds as Jimmy Butler missed a 3 that would have given the Heat the lead as time was expiring in game 7.

The Heat was not a good offensive team this season, but Jimmy Butler has taken it to another level and the shooters around him have stepped up in the playoffs.

For the heat to have a chance, Jimmy is going to have to be Jimmy and threes are going to have to fall. The Celtics may have too much firepower, but never count out Jimmy and Heat Culture.
