Kobe Bryant and Los Angeles Lakers will try to bounce back from a recent 96-87 road defeat vs. the Utah Jazz on last Saturday as they visit the Wachovia Center to face the fiery Philadelphia 76ers this Monday night.

The Lakers, usually hands-down favorites against most of their opponents, have been a little inconsistent when playing away from the Staples Center, holding an unimpressive 3-8 record so far this season. Previous to its 96-87 loss vs. the Utah Jazz on Saturday night, the Lakers scored a 93-89 victory over the Nuggets in Denver in the first of six road games.  But while things aren't going exactly as expected this season, the Lakers are second in the division, 1.5 games behind the Los Angeles Clippers. Now the Lakers will try to improve to 2-1 on their current trip before facing their long-time rivals, the Boston Celtics, next Thursday, February 9th.

Meanwhile the Sixers (17-7) recovered from Friday night's loss to the Miami Heat and were able to achieve their sixth win in eight games. After a quick visit to Atlanta on Saturday, the team scored a vital 98-87 victory thanks to rookie Nikola Vucevic's team-high 15 points. The victory consolidates the Sixers as the leading team in the Atlantic Division with three and a half games ahead of Boston.  Despite the 20-point home defeat against the Heat, Philadelphia, which has won five of their last six overall, holds the best home record in the Eastern Conference with 12-3.
