Game Overview:

Tuesday night, the top ranked Kentucky Wildcats travel to Starkville to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs  in a high voltage Southeastern Conference  game set to kick off tonight at 9:00 pm at the Humphrey Coliseum.

The game is vital for the Wildcats (26-1) as the team will try to become the third squad in 55 years to go undefeated in the Southeastern Conference.  Kentucky’s only loss of the season came on December 10th after falling 73-72 on the road vs. the Indiana Hoosiers.  Since then, Kentucky has won 18 consecutive games, and is 12-0 in SEC play, their best start in- conference since 2003.  Thanks to their amazing record, the Wildcats are sit three games ahead of second-place Florida with four games left on the regular season schedule.

However, Kentucky has found the Bulldogs to be an uncomfortable adversary. The two teams have split their last six matches and the average a margin of victory just 4.9 points in their last seven games. Both teams are known for their strong defense; which had opponents shooting only 36.2% against the Wildcats and 42.9 against Miss State. Kentucky has the advantage on offense, averaging 77.8 points with five players in double figures, compared to Miss State’s 72.5 points per game.
