This coming Saturday, Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys (7-6, 2^nd in the NFC East) will do the impossible to bolster their record with a victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-9, 4^th in the NFC South), and bounce back from two bitter losses that have put the team in the playoff limbo.

But despite the two last second missed field goal losses, the Cowboys still remain tied atop the NFC East, with only three games left on the schedule.  Aside from the coming game vs. Tampa Bay, the Cowboys will receive the Philadelphia Eagles on Week 16 and will close the regular season with another match up vs. the NY Giants.  But while Cowboys’ fans are expecting the team to vindicate from the last two loses and make it to the NFL playoffs, the Buccaneers, a team officially eliminated from playoff contention, will simply try to avoid another loss and their longest in-season losing streakin 24 years.

The Cowboys have lost their last two games by a slight margin (37-34 vs. the Giants, and 13-19 vs. The Cardinals) which makes the odds look a bit overblown. However, Tampa Bay’s stats are far from perfect this season. The Bucs have not won a game since Week 6. Since that date, the Bucs have accrued seven-straight losses, including 4 loses by 9 or more points (37-9 vs. Houston, 26-35 vs. Green Bay, 38-19 vs. Carolina, and 14-41 vs. Jacksonville), which shows the team is not only losing, they’re also getting swiped by their opponents.

On top of losing seven games in a row, the Bucks have allowed 79 combined points in their last two games. In their last game, the Bucks took an unpredicted 41-14 beat from the Jacksonville Jaguars (4-9). Tampa Bay started the game with an early 14-0 lead before the Jags found the way to break their defense and score 41 unanswered points.

Overall, chances are far from good for the Buccaneers in their final home game of the season, but fortunately for Dallas fans, the Bucs are pretty much the perfect opponent for scoring a vital victory that could put Dallas in the 2011-2012 NFL Playoffs. Good luck and win big!
