The first day of the 2023 MLB draft saw the Pittsburgh Pirates select Paul Skenes as the No. 1 overall pick.
The Washington Nationals followed suit by drafting Dylan Crews, Skenes’ teammate, at No. 2, marking the first time in history that teammates went 1-2 in the MLB draft.
The Detroit Tigers, Texas Rangers, and Minnesota Twins completed the top five picks. The draft will resume on Monday with Rounds 3-10, starting at 2 p.m. ET.
