The Milwaukee Bucks have become old news in the league. Since winning the title in 2020-2021, the Bucks have become well-establish, almost predictably dominant. They win with strong team defense and disciplined offense and overwhelm opponents with Giannis Antetokounmpo’s sheer length and athletic advantage.

Brook Lopez has outpaced Father Time and continues to be the perfect complement for the Greek Freak on both ends of the floor, spacing the court for Giannis’s patented gaits toward the rim and protecting the cup with ferocity in a drop scheme that opponents still can’t seem to solve.

They’ve only grown more lethal as Antetokounmpo continues to expand his offensive bag, they get contributions from their young players like Jordan Nwora and Marjon Beauchamp, and the defense optimizes itself to take away the one shot that presented itself as a weakness in years past: 3-pointers.

The Cleveland Cavaliers might just be the team in the East best suited to knock off the Bucks and the warpath they’ve set on to return to the Finals. No other squad has the size, length, and athleticism to counter Giannis’s herculean drives like the Cavs can with Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen shrinking the paint game in and game out.

With their twin towers lineup and Donovan Mitchell’s addition in the offseason, they’re now almost a complete team with no exposable weaknesses. Spida’s individual scoring was able to keep the team afloat while star guard Darius Garland recovered from a brutal eye injury, and the team looks dangerous albeit flawed — especially in the clutch.

It’s not hyperbole to say that Cleveland has underwhelmed despite their 8-5 start, as they’ve dropped four games in a row, each featuring some abysmal late-game execution. Once the Cavs can successfully integrate both Garland and Mitchell into their backcourt and figure out their clutch woes, there’s no doubt that they’ll tear right through the league.

This upcoming clash has the makings for a potential statement game from either participant. The Bucks and Giannis can send a message to the league that they’re still the cream of the crop and deserve all of the respect they’ve garnered through the past half-decade.

On the other hand, the Cavaliers can start to right the ship and establish themselves as true contenders by toppling one of the league’s giants.
